The management of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto through the Office of the Registrar, on Thursday, 29th of January, 2026 has issued an urgent notice to the newly admitted students, ahead of the session’s matriculation ceremony scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 25th of February, 2026.

In a statement obtained by Gamji Press and signed by the registrar, Mal. Ahmadu Shehu, all newly admitted students whose Admission Confirmation letter is different from Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Admission Letter should as a matter of urgency, approach JAMB for a change of JAMB Admission Letter.

Going further, the statement reads, “all printing and verification must be completed on or before 25th of February, 2026.”

In alignment with JAMB regulations and the university’s internal guidelines, it is a mandatory prerequisite for every student to be fully “CAPS-Compliant” before they can be formally matriculated.

The Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) serves as the legal foundation for any student’s admission in Nigeria, and the university is enforcing these measures to ensure the integrity of its student records.

“Any student who fails to print their original JAMB admission letter will not be included in the matriculation list, will not be assigned a formal matriculation number, and will technically not be recognized as a student of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto,” the statement concludes.
