The association of Muslim health students at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital has announced plans to hold its annual orientation program for recently admitted College of Health Sciences students of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto.

The orientation, scheduled to take place on Sunday 4th of January, 2025 will be held at ETF 2 hall of the Main Campus, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

According to the Ameer of the association, Abudlazeez Muhammad Sanusi, the program is aimed at welcoming the new students, while reminding them of the importance of upholding Islamic values alongside their academic pursuits.

“At the orientation, the new students from the departments of Pharmacy, Medical Radiography, MBBS/BDS, Medical Laboratory sciences, Optometry, Physiotherapy, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, among others will be welcomed officially into the university community,” he said.

“General overview of their respective courses of study will also be provided and they will be guided on how to navigate campus life academically and spiritually,” he explained.

On the day of the orientation, according to the Ameer, “a brief screening exercise to select student coordinators that will serve as a link between the association and new intakes will also be conducted”.

The Association of Muslim health students with the motto “Islam, Knowledge, and Health”, calls on students to attend the program and also encourages the university community to help share the announcement across relevant platforms.
