For the first time in six years, Arsenal has made it to the final of a football tournament having defeated their London counterpart, Chelsea, in their second-leg semi-final encounter at the Emirates stadium on Tuesday.
Recall that Arsenal has previously defeated Chelsea with 3-2 in their first-leg played in the Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, 14th of January, 2025

The North London side approached the contest with tactical maturity, resilience and solid defense. Against the West London side packed with talent and good players, Arsenal controlled the tempo of the game and struck their opponent at the right moments. With this, they were able to outplay The Blues and secure their whole 3 points.

Reaching the final showcase Arteta’s long-term project is gradually coming to play. Since taking charge, the Spanish manager has prioritized youth development, tactical identity and mental strength.

During the first years, criticism sets in from fans when he could not reach any final to at least justify his project.

This achievement denotes deeply within the fanbase years of endurance, multiple defeats, watching their rivals lifting trophies while their own club still searches for stability.

With their performance so far this season, Arsenal are no longer just participants but contenders with high hopes of lifting the trophy. This is a test for the Spanish manager if he could bring the trophy home or lose it again.

However, based on team’s trophy-bottling record, alot of people are still skeptical about Arsenal finally getting the job done. With time, it will become clear if this is a moment of joy for gunners or another trophy will be gifted to the opponents.
