A Viral WhatsApp group message claimed UDUS has released admission for the 2025/2026 academic  on the school portal with a link to check the admission attached.

True! UDUS has released admission on school.

Background:

It is the usual practice of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto to release admission on its school portal after the release on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Central Admissions Processing System (JAMB CAPS), which started a couple of weeks ago. The school portal serves as the venue for the continuation of the admission process; where successful candidates are required to pay their acceptance fees and create their student accounts.

However, the main cause of concern this year was that the link being shared differed from the one used for admission in the past two years. This discrepancy, coupled with the sudden increase of the acceptance fee from ₦22,400 to ₦29,400 and potential risk of scamming the school’s aspirants led GAMJI PRESS to fact-check the claim.

Verification:

Gamji Press conducted a verification process to confirm the credibility of the website and the claim. A technical check using WHOIS revealed that the link is a subdomain of the university’s official website, sharing the same registration and hosting details as the school’s main domain.

To further confirm, a phone call was placed to the Deputy Director of ICT, Mallam Riliwanu, who verified the authenticity of the link and the release of the admission list.

 “Yes, the website is from us and the admission has been released on the school portal. You can as well get in touch with us if any issue is experienced while making the payments on the website,” he said. 

Conclusion: 

UDUS has officially released the admission list on the school portal, and the link circulating is genuine.
